About This Recipe: This one's good to serve those who claim they don't like greens. Pork fat rules IMO, but have left the fat out (except for the butter) to keep the health rating a little higher.

Ingredients

1 16 oz. bag of pre-washed fresh turnip greens

2 medium sized turnips diced

1 medium sized onion chopped

2 cloves garlic minced

4 cups +/- water

3 chicken bullion cubes

1 tablespoon butter

1 tablespoon sugar

Black pepper to taste

 

Directions

Place all ingredients into a good sized pot with a lid

Simmer gently for an hour or so keeping an eye on the broth level.  You want the broth just below the top of the greens when done.  Add to or cook out the broth as required.
